Immerse yourself in the gripping tales of K. R. Peace as he unravels human experiences with depth and integrity.
In Where the Rules End Eliza Cordova is handed a Rule Book by a wise elder. She lives by its rules, takes them to a higher level, and starts writing down the ones who break them. Survival becomes her method, and her method becomes a weapon: an eight-shot ledger, cold as steel. It does not forget. It does not miss. It holds on until the truth brings them down.
Cinematic, grounded, and relentless, this is a series about family, control, faith, and the moment a person decides to stop running.
When the world tells her to keep her head down, Eliza chooses the living.

Release Update: Where the Rules End
Thank you for your support, patience, and encouragement.
The release of Where the Rules End has been moved to mid to late April. I know delays are never ideal, especially when so many of you have already shown interest in this story and in the larger Choose the Living series.
This extra time is being used to make sure the book is presented the right way in every respect. My goal has always been to deliver the strongest version of the story possible, and I would rather take a little more time now than release it before it is truly ready.
Where the Rules End is the beginning of something much larger, and it matters to me that it launches with the quality, care, and impact it deserves.
Thank you for staying with me. More updates will be shared soon, and I cannot wait to put this book in your hands.

Meet K. R. Peace

KR Peace writes fiction shaped by close observation of people, systems, and the quiet rules that govern daily life under pressure. Peace spends much of the week alongside children and families from low-income communities, listening more than speaking, and watching how policy, economics, and history settle into ordinary homes.
Raised around farming, ranching and the heart of the Permian Basin. Peace has witnessed the oil boom, the strain it places on land and families, and the shifting realities along the southern border. These experiences inform stories that explore power, consequences, and the small decisions people make when larger forces close in.
The First Lesson
A Short Story by KR Peace
Before Eliza understood the rules, someone had already decided she would need them.
Juanita saw the truck before Eliza did and hated the way it slowed.
White. Dusty. Slow enough to look accidental.
It came up the lane without hurry, no horn, no wave, no reason to notice it unless you had lived long enough to know what men looked like when they were pretending not to look. The colonia was already awake around them. Radios argued through open windows. A dog barked at a bicycle and then at nothing. Somebody farther down the lane shook a rug hard enough to lift dust into the light. Morning should have belonged to ordinary things. Instead, the truck turned the yard into a question.
